Rules
- Checkboxes primarily present lists of choices from which users can select any number of items.
- Checkboxes typically display a text label. The text label must be interactive so users can select or unselect an option even if they don't click right on the box.
- It’s good practice to organise checklists vertically instead of horizontally.
- A checkbox can also be used as a stand-alone item for users to turn an option on and off (e.g. to accept Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy)
Content Guidelines
- Use sentence style capitalisation.
- Try and keep the options short.
- Keep the options consistent, for example, all nouns or all verbs, never a mix
- Write labels in positive form (e.g. I accept the Terms and Conditions)
